MAYIBUYE DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION

The Mayibuye Development Foundation is a community development organization which seeks to create and facilitate sustainable programs with the aim of appreciably alleviating poverty and unemployment.

The ethos of our organization is to assist every individual in identifying their true capacity.

With this innovative concept we hope to assist as many people grow into self sufficient, self sustainable entities.

The organization believes that the promotion of self completeness will lead to self happiness.

Our flagship project already underway is the creation of self sustaining ANTI – POVERTY GARDENS throughout the city of Durban, South Africa.

MDeF has facilitated the first ANTI POVERTY garden at the SARVA DHARMA ASHRAM which feeds 4500 people a week, has a free medical clinic and is situated in the heart of the impoverished township of Welbedacht, Durban.

On the 16th of October 2009 MDEF will handover gardens packs consisting of seeds, fertilizer and implements as well as conduct a workshop on permaculture, as well as an explanation of our contribution to the United Nations Stop Poverty campaign (a Guiness book of records event) by our Secretary-General, Anil Ramnath.

This garden is the first of four anticipated gardens in our province

With this new venture we aim to promote the benefits of sustainable food gardens with the specific aim of dealing with poverty.

Join the movement and have your say against poverty.
